XML In Flash

In this article you will learn how to integrate Flash with XML data files. We will be covering the following:

  • Creating an XML document that will work with Flash
  • Setting up the visual elements within the Flash Movie
  • Define the ActionScript used to code the Flash Movie

Why XML? First introduced in 1996, XML has gathered a huge momentum as the open data sharing language for the Internet. The core functionality of the language is to structure data. In this video quick tip, we’ll review how to work with HTML 5 video in your own projects. Because older browsers and Internet Explorer do not understand the <video> element, we must also find a way to serve a Flash file to viewers who are utilizing those browsers.
